Since 1997, Appleseed Trust has helped microbusiness startups and expansions in low and moderate income neighborhoods/communities throughout the City of Syracuse, Onondaga County and Central New York. We assist budding entrepreneurs with business skills training, mentoring and, in qualified cases, making small (micro) loans to graduate-operated businesses for startup or expansion.

Interest in our program has never been stronger; we have started our 59th 9-week session of our Basic Business Skills Training Course, which currently has approximately 400 graduates. Sixty of those graduates are currently operating 50 small businesses within the Greater Syracuse area. The capital investment, profits and jobs created by these small local businesses benefit the very communities that need them most, those that are underserved or disadvantaged. Proven programs like Appleseed Trust make sense now more than ever to encourage further growth in small businesses, especially considering that the majority of new job creation as well as overall employment is now concentrated in the small, rather than corporate, business sector.

Appleseed Trust is in the process of merging with Home HeadQuarters of Syracuse. This change will strengthen Appleseed's programs by improving fundraising, staffing, and space. Our new contact information appears above.
