Community Meetings - Purpose

  1. Kickoff ‐ Public Meeting #1 (Task 4.2 – Laundromat Design)
    • Initial meeting to introduce the concept for the whole project
    • Discuss the geothermal loop, etc.
    • Gather initial comments on designs contained in the proposal.
    • Describe our process; introduce website; collect email addresses.
    • Gather public comments about the design of the Community Laundromat.
  2. Public Meeting #2 (Task 8.2 – Southwest Corner Single‐Family Homes Design and Renovation of Police Storefront)
    • Present final drawings for the Laundromat in response to public comments collected in Public Meeting #1.
    • Obtain feedback on the design for the two single‐family homes to be constructed on the southeast corner.
    • Obtain feedback on the proposed renovation of 625 Otisco Street.
    • Gather ideas for potential tenants including the kinds of commercial services that are needed in the neighborhood.
  3. Public Meeting #3 (Task 6.3 ‐ Mixed Use Building Design)
    • Present final drawings for the 2 single‐family homes in response to public comments collected in Public Meeting #2.
    • Present final drawings for the mixed use building.
    • Present the design and obtain feedback on the 6 single‐family homes on the Northeast Corner.
  4. Public Meeting #4 (Project Update)
    • Present the design and obtain feedback on the 6 single‐family homes on the Northeast Corner.
  5. Neighborhood Project Celebration – Purpose:
    • An ‘open house’ event to showcase the redeveloped properties and to thank neighbors for their participation.
    • Identify funders, key partners and elected officials.

Community Meetings - Schedule

  1. Meeting 1 took place on June 27th, 2016.  It was to discuss the design of the laundromat.  The four boards that were presented can be viewed under the "Designs" tab.
  2. Meeting 2 took place on September 14th 2016.  We discussed the renovation of the former Police Storefront (625 Otisco Street) and presented designs for the live/work home at 701 Otisco and the single-family home at 705 Otisco.  We also presented a 3D rendering of the final laundromat design.

Outcome:

Comments received from stakeholder and community meetings will be used by the team to guide the project design and use. All meetings will have a note taker and comments from the meetings will be posted on Home HeadQuarters website and made available at future meetings. The public will have opportunity to meet key team members – planners, architects and engineers – to be able to learn about the project and all of its components.
