In light of the season, all of us here at Home HeadQuarters, Board, staff and volunteers, wanted to thank you for your support of our efforts in making successful homeownership a reality for Central New York families.  Here are just a few of the other things we’re thankful for this year:

We’re thankful ...

Neighborhood Block Blitz... the $8,000 tax credit for new homeowners and the $6,500 for existing homeowners was extended to April 30, 2010.

... more than 100 people came out to volunteer and work up a sweat for our Neighborhood Block Blitz!

Proclamation... Anderson McIlroy was born.

... for NeighborWorks® America’s recent proclamation naming us the #1 home rehabilitation producer in their National network.  And just for NeighborWorks® America!

... for all of our renewing corporate and individual members.

... for the City of Syracuse’s Property Tax Exemption Program where all new construction, rehabbed properties and LEED-certified properties can receive substantial tax breaks.

Paul Driscoll... for Paul Driscoll.

... that Congressman Maffei worked to get another round of the Syracuse Neighborhood Initiative into the city to provide funding for crucial housing projects.

... to each and every new homebuyer that had to work diligently on budgeting and saving before they purchased a new home, even when they really wanted to purchase immediately.

Five Sisters... the 5 Sisters--completed!

... to all of our Representatives for bringing in extra CDFI and CDBG Stimulus dollars that will help fund much needed home improvements and demolitions of derelict buildings.

Neighborhood Associations... to all of our Access To Home partners: Enable, ARISE, PEACE, Inc., Onondaga County Department of Aging and Youth, and Loretto for helping deliver a great program to our frail elders and those with disabilities in our community.

... to all of the leaders and members of the city’s various neighborhood associations who volunteer so much time and energy to help their neighborhoods!

SIPS panels... we’re learning so many new green and energy saving techniques such as deconstruction and what the heck SIPs might mean.

... that it seems like we only get smart and friendly Syracuse University interns.

... to everyone who contributed an item for our Annual Meeting silent auction and to everyone who bid on an item helping to make this auction our most successful one ever!

Ana Fernandez... for all of our Near Westside partners with a extra special thank you to Ana Fernandez from Syracuse Center of Excellence who genuinely works hard for the residents of that neighborhood.
