HHQ 17th Annual Neighborhood Block Blitz is in the Books

Home HeadQuarters 17th Annual Neighborhood Block Blitz is in the books! The weather was picture perfect; the homeowners, business owners and all the stakeholders in Syracuse’s Southwest Side neighborhood couldn’t be more welcoming; and all the volunteer teams came ready to roll up their sleeves and make a difference. More than 60 properties got the volunteer team treatment during this year’s one-day event including Jubilee Home’s Urban Delights Learning Farm with almost an acre of land for planting, harvesting and teaching and five Tiny Homes for Good houses which needed more than 470 linear feet of fence painted (front and back!). Volunteers helped paint countless porches, worked to remove truckloads of overgrowth (we learned all about grape vine), planted almost a hundred flowers, filled three dumpsters with debris and finished (a Block Blitz first) sealing more than 20 driveways.
